Baby News!

So we got updated news on when our little one will arrive. We now will be having her on the 2nd of June unless something else happens to put me earlier. I had some tests done last week that didn't make the doctor comfortable waiting any later. I will be officially 38 weeks and 3 days then and hoping everything goes good.
The doctor let us know that she is in distress so she might have to go to the NICU depending on her development. He really doesn't want to bring her out any earlier if he doesn't have to. He also warned us that there might be complications that arise with me so he wanted me to know recovery might be longer. We just want our little one to be healthy so we'll keep her inside as long as she can stay.
Because of all the uncertainty with the baby and me, Eric has decided to forgo his seminar in June in case things end up on the bad side. He's just being cautious. So that's what's going on now. She is measuring bigger for her size right now, so hopefully that will help her stay out of the NICU or at least keep her there shorter. We are very excited to finally have a set day in mind and hope all goes well.
I am excited to be able to once again enter the living and do stuff again. I only have 3 weeks left and am extremely excited. We thought my doctor would lift the bed rest order, but he doesn't want to cause anything that might send me earlier- DARN IT! I was hoping to be able to go walking and to the park, but I'll just have to wait a little longer.
So, that's the update and hope for the best for us. Enjoy the nice weather for me!

Things I Love About May

Hey there, I just love the month of May so I thought I would share some of my loves with all of you rather than just posting my rants and frustrations.

1. The month begins with my birthday which I just love because I have lasted through all the bad and enjoyed all the good life has brought.

2. It's the start of some beautiful weather and outings for us.

3. Mother's Day is a wonderful day that I enjoy remembering the women in my life who have taught me and cared for me and that I respect. I have an awesome mother-in-law who tries her hardest to be there for me even when she has so many others she is looking out for. I have great aunts, sister-in-laws, grandma-in-laws(who act just like blood grandmas), and I had one amazing grandma who was more my mom than anything. I hope to be half as good of a mother as she was to me. I also have my daughters to think of and look up to as they already have a lot of mothering care instilled in them. They take care of their younger siblings with so much love and adoration I know they will become wonderful women and mothers.

4. So many people that I love and care for also enjoy May birthdays. My grandma, my mother-in-law, my nephew, and my amazing husband. I love to show these people how much I care for them and love to celebrate their life, especially my husband.

5. Memorial Day is a big one for our family. We love it not only because we have had family members who have served, but also it usually always falls around Eric's birthday so we have a huge weekend extravaganza of celebration. I just love it.

6. My children go off track right around the 22nd of the month and we can enjoy the nice weather and go do fun things. However this year we are hoping to bring home our new addition right around that time. They are all excited and counting down the days.

7. The last thing about May that I absolutely love is the change of season. I enjoy being able to jump into the warmth and walk on the grass barefoot, watch the kids play outside or go swimming. I enjoy the sun and the longer daylight. I enjoy the planning we do for our summer outings we would like to do. I mostly like the thought of not being trapped in my house anymore. I can't wait to be outside everyday soaking up the rays and not having too many cares in the world. I also enjoy the fact that May means we will almost have our new little baby here, YAY!

So these are a few of my favorite things. Writing about them just makes me want to go outside and enjoy everything right now. I love this time of year and am just so happy it is here!

Doctors are so wish-washy!

So, I had another run to the hospital on Friday and the nurses and residents thought I was contracting and going into labor, but no go. I got sent home and went in this morning for my check-up. Baby is doing good and measuring 2 weeks ahead but because of all the strange symptoms I now have to go do NSTs(non-stress tests) and get AFI measurements. All to make sure I don't go into labor on my own. The worry before was if I could make it to 36 weeks and now we are told the hospital won't let me deliver until the 8th of June unless it's an emergency for me or the baby. ARRRGH!
They put me on bedrest so to keep me going until 36 weeks and now I have to go until June, no fair. It creates real problems because Eric leaves on the 14th for a seminar and I won't get home until the 12th. So I have to recoop., take care of a newborn, put my 2 older girls back in school on the 15th, and take care of the 3 younger ones all on my own for 5 days. Yeah right. Oh yeah, our house is completely full of stairs, the enemy for a C-section recooperation. I just love the doctors. They say I can only go early if something else goes wrong. So I'm put in the position of either recooperating on my own or wishing something goes wrong so I can have the baby early.
The doctors just don't know one way or another which is the best. My doctor would love to be able to deliver me at 37 weeks, but his hands are tied by the hospital. ARRRGH, is all I have to say! So that's what's going on here. It's very frustrating and I am so done being pregnant, but what are you going to do. So I'm just going to sit back and see what happens.
Thanks for reading my rant, hope all is well with all of you and enjoy the nice weather!

Cute Easter Kiddies

Our eldest child, who whenever she gets all dolled up all I can think is she is going to give Eric some headaches when she starts dating. She is the funniest girl though. Kaleigh saw her come up all dressed up and said how pretty she looked and Alexis's response was "yeah, whatever, I hate dresses!" You just have to laugh at the girl who so doesn't want to be a frilly girl.
Little Noah, who is always with a smile and a laugh. I love this little guy and his overwhelming amount of happiness all day and everyday. He is our family's little jokester and jester. He can make the grumpiest or sadest person leave his prescence in a smile and laughter.

Our sweet little Laney, loving her new Easter dress and how it makes her feel like a princess in a big castle. She is the sweetest little girl and loves dresses.

And here is Kaleigh, our little fairy. She lives in the clouds and make-believe world with her flightyness and love of everything. She is a very funny, caring, loveable little girl who was so excited to get a matching purse for her dress. She is the child who gives me headaches with her already love of BOYS! She is only 7 1/2 and is obsessed with boys, mama mia am I in trouble when she is a teenager.

Our handsome little guy who didn't mind dressing up for once. He usually refuses to wear nice clothes, but he knew it was Easter and wanted to wear his new, nice Easter clothes. I was glad, because it saved me from battling with him. He takes great pride in being the big boy and brother in the house.

Our cute little Easter bunch all dressed and ready to go to Grandma and Grandpa's church! They were excited to go and show off their outfits and their new haircuts. From what I understand they were very good for Eric at church and had fun. I was at home taking care of the new little one who should be here soon. I have a very fun, loving and cute family and am grateful for everyday that I have with them. I also have a very loving and wonderful husband who has helped me immensely these past months. He never complains and just says he doesn't mind doing things for me because he loves me. He's the most wonderful man and I am lucky to have him in my life. We hope you all had a wonderful Easter and hope nice spring weather will return soon.

Things that come in threes!

Well, I'm just not that good at taking doctor's orders, or at least keeping them fully. It's hard to take it easy and stay down with 5 very energetic children. The last couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster. It started out with getting info, if you can call it that, about Alexis and our waiting game to see if she's okay. Then came the run to the hospital with thoughts of losing our little one, but she's okay thank goodness. My condition just keeps us on our toes and I need to not do as much. Then the final event, poor Noah getting his tooth knocked back up into his gums and a big gash in his mouth. My lovely 3 yr old tank was running downstairs and bumped into him knocking him into a container of books. Needless to say there was a whole lot of bleeding, crying, and guilt(from me not being downstairs with them). We took Noah to the pediatric dentist and have to wait for a month to see if the tooth will come back down by itself or if we just leave it alone or get it pulled. The dentist thinks there's no permanent damage, so just another adventure of having 5 small kids in the house.
Well at least I can say my life isn't boring, but a little less adventure would be nice once in a while. The older kids go back to school again on Monday which is a real good thing. It's actually easier to take care of the 3 younger ones on bedrest than all 5.
We had the opportunity to enjoy some of the good weather, before the snow came again. Eric and I took the kids to their school on Saturday and flew kites with them. He made me promise to just sit and watch, but five little ones running in different directions all the time is hard for one person to deal with, so I took it upon myself to look after Noah. My mind said yes I can, while my body said no you certainly can't. So my little jaunt with the family put me into bed for the rest of the day and all of Sunday. It sucks when you think you can do something, but your body tells you differently. I feel like an old lady, seriously I am never going to let my body get old if I can help it.
So that's what we have all been up to lately and hopefully it will be a little more quiet on our homefront. I wish you all well and have a Happy Day!

Last Post for Awhile

Well we finally heard some news about Alexis, but it still has us baffled and won't be resolved until June. All her tests for thyroid functioning are fine, however her bone scan shows a 2 year bone growth delay and they don't know why. The doctors haven't explained much to us, but I'm hoping to get more info in the coming months. Stress, stress, stress! I knew she was looking short, but a 2 year delay is crazy.
On another note, this will be the last post for awhile as I head into doctor's orders of bed rest. We thought everything was fine for our new little one, but it changed again. I have been diagnosed with placenta previa and am hoping nothing bad will happen. All I can do is hope for the best and whatever happens, happens. It's out of my hands and all I can say is in our family when it rains it POURS!
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst seems to be our family motto these days! I'm going to miss our free annual date night this year. We love Art Soup, which is CNS's fundraiser, it's fun, free, and it's for a good cause. They are a non-profit nursing/home health care business. They took real good care of Christian and loved him deeply! I also get a free piece of art bought by my dad when we go. RATS, what a time to be put on bed rest.
Please keep Alexis in your prayers that everything will be fixed and she'll remain healthy. She's my first-born and I hate to think of something awful happening to her. I would hate it for any of my kids, but she's the oldest and was touched the most by her brother and has had enough bad stuff in her short little life. And on that note, I must be returning to my couch!
