Field Day Fun!!

The girls all had field day at school this week and I went with them for the first time ever. It was Alexis's last one, because they go to Boondocks in 6th grade, so I just HAD to go. It was so much fun watching Alexis and Laney. Apparently their school does field day in sections, so I was unable to see Kaleigh's. Hers wasn't until 1 p.m. and I only had a sitter for the morning session. I'll just have to go to hers next year. The girls and I made these cute flip flops just in time for their water day. We made them for the pool, but we thought why not wear them to field day-it's just a big day of water fun anyways. Aren't they just so cauuute! Guess who's who feet.

Laney's class doing parachute games. It was one of the few waterless games. It was nice because Laney's class was only one station behind Alexis's class, which made picture taking very easy. I didn't have to run across the field trying to grab pics of both girls.

They also had this huge slide that almost everyone in A's class jumped off instead of sliding. Hence, why the pic of A is just of her head at the bottom of the slide. By the time I got to the pic, she was already done. CRAZY girl!!!

Miss Laney Banes at the chalk drawing station. She loves this too. It was a perfect day for this smiley girl. It was fun for me too and very informative for me as well. I learned that I have another little thrill seeker on my hands.

Ready. Set. Throw!! This was girls vs. boys in throwing the wettest balls at each other. As you can see in the pic, A enjoyed herself a lot. She was glad I came and so was I. Thanks to my MIL for watching the little ones, I could go have some fun with my girls.

Funniest part of the whole field day. A decided to try the dunk tank out and man was she SOAKED! She loved it, but looked like a drowned rat afterwards.

She really wanted to do it, but once up on the seat she gave it another thought, but in the end she went for it. I AM IN TROUBLE!!! I now have two, brave, thrill-seeking girls. I'm sure our life will be filled with bumps and bruises along the way, but oh how so much fun we will have. This was a very, fun day for us all and I am so looking forward to our 3 weeks of summer fun.

Discovery Garden Day with Grandma!

This past week my lit'l kindergartner has been out of school for end-of-year testing, and we couldn't have been any happier. It's tough doing fun stuff when you have to pick up a kid only 2 1/2 hours later. We took advantage and had some fun. We went down to Thanksgiving Point's Children's Garden. The kids had a blast and... grandma came with us. They were excited to show her all the fun things they could do. Here's Laney "performing" once again for us, her "audience." A little out of focus due to I only took the single stroller, so terror Noah was roaming free. Trying to keep him in my sights and take pictures didn't go so well, but he loved being free.Noah's grumpy face letting me know he DID NOT want me to take his picture, again.

Here we are back at home and cute Bella standing on her tippy toes. I wanted to get this picture and document this. This is how she always stands and "walks" around stuff. It's the cutest thing. She loves to stand on her tippy toes and I think it is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! I mean, c'mon, how can you not love that smile. The girl is so cute, but I'm not bias or anything.

More Zoo Pictures!

With a kindergartner home for the week from school, what do you do? Go to the zoo, of course! So off we went this morning with Lana and Carter. A blast was had by all, and we were all tuckered out and ready for our afternoon nap. The kids loved the animals, but I think their favorite part was the playground! You'd think they had never been on one before. Oh the joys of childhood. I took lots of pics again this time so here we go... Gorgeous tiger!

I love these guys! We had so much fun, and YES, I can keep track of them without the help of the older girls. I'm getting better and better, now if they would only get better at knowing what "stay by mommy" means. Gotta love 'em!

My little studly guy. He loves his "new" glasses. I let him wear Christian's spiderman sunglasses and he was in pure heaven. He kept telling me he would treat them good " 'cause they're my big brother's glasses and he would be sad if they broke." What a nice, considerable boy I have.

Love, love, love the elephants! Especially Suri- the cute little baby! I love to go to the zoo in the spring and see the babies. We also saw baby geese, soooo cute! It was a nice, lovely day at the zoo.

Dino Fun!

We are having so much fun with our passes for Thanksgiving Point, thanks again dad, we have visited the Dino Museum twice in less than a week. I took the kids with my dad last Wednesday and Eric surprised us by meeting us there and we all had a blast. My dad has never been and he was amazed at how big the place was. The kids had a blast dragging him around showing him everything. They love it so much they want to go back with him and see one of the 3D movies they play there. We then went back a few days later so the kids could play and hang out with some cousins. Eric's brother is in town and with the kids out of school still we decided to go see more dinos. We had more fun and took some cute pics both times we went so warning there are quite a few:

HILARIOUS, if I don't say myself. Sometimes that girl just puts me into stitches with her attitude and the way she rects to stuff. Gotta love being a mom to a "tween" right, RIGHT?

Train Fun!

So Friday we had another family outing and due to the weather we needed something indoors, so we headed for Ogden! Trains here we come! With our Odgen Dinosaur pass we get in to the train museum for free so we thought what better than to take our train-obsessed boys to see big trains! The girls had a blast too as you can see from the grins ear to ear!Love these kiddos!

Love that Noah grin! Cheese! We had a blast and I have a ton more pics, but for some reason blogger isn't letting me upload them so if I can I'll post more of them later. We had a blast and eventhough Eric had to work half the day he did it around going up to Ogden so he could have some family fun time too! We love our daddy when he does stuff with us! The kids really enjoyed having him with us, because he's been real busy with work and hasn't been able to do much with the kids on their vacation. We ended the day with Red Robin(I'm beginning to think this is our family restaurant given the kids always want to go there when given the choice)tasty food filling their bellies. The kids can really pack food away when it's something they like. Then headed home and Eric went back to work and the kids and I were beat from the day's activities. Fun was had by all again and they can hardly wait for our next adventure!

Adventures in our outings this last week!

We finally got to venture out of our house after spending the kids' first week of vacation stuck inside due to half the kids being sick. So what do I do to ease into our vacation. I take all six kids out all by myself to an open area filled with animals, sick and unable to talk much due to my getting sick from taking care of all the sick kids. We wanted to go and see some animals and try out our new family pass to Farm Country down at Thanksgiving Point. Much to my surprise my children were so good. They stayed with me and didn't run all over and we had a ton of fun. My kids are great, but when we get out after being cooped up for a long time it's like that song-"Born Free" they just need to run. We had so much fun and it was so easy keeping track of all six all by myself that when we were done I noticed that 2 1/2 hours had gone by. Whoa! I not only survived an outing all by myself, but I had a blast doing so. See, I usually take the kids to big open spaces and someone else comes-i.e. my MIL, or SIL, or my dad or Eric. But I wanted to see how I would fare on my own and I did it, whew! So here are some pics of us at the farm and they have some of the cutest babies out and about!Cute little calf. The kids watched it while it ate and walked over to us.

Funny story here. All the animals were quite friendly and kept walking up to the kids and hanging over the railings. This one came right up to Kaleigh and spit on her, hence the face. Cute, funny, Kaleigh got either spit on or licked on by a cow, alpaca, and this cute llama. Alexis was the first one to get licked by when we went and saw the Jersey cow. I have never seen the animals quite this friendly and active. It was fun and funny to see the kids' reactions. They all had a blast!

Poor Laney got so spooked by this lovely wild turkey. I was taking a picture and as soon as the flash went off it started gobbling and puffing up. It scard the heck out of her and she wouldn't even walk by its cage.

This is a fun little jail they have set up. The kids thought it was fun to be behind the bars. Now only if they thought it was as fun to be behind their bedroom doors at home.

We ended our day with a bumpy, screaming, fun had by all tractor ride. The kids all want to go back soon so we will be going back again before vacation is over.

We also went to the Discovery Gateway this week, but this time I had my dad with us. He has never been and wanted to spend some time with the kids so he took the day off and off we went. Mental note- do not go in the morning when schools are in session. We have always gone in the summer in the past so I didn't know that school groups, and lots of them, go to the museum. It was so crowded but we had fun.

Noah loved the play part and the dress-ups. He kept growling while he was wearing his cheetah costume. Such a cute, smiley guy!

Logan was so excited he got to "try" and fly the helicopter. Poor guy, he actually thought when he got in he would be able to fly it. He still loved attempting it though.

The kids all had a blast at the museum. Alexis drew a lot of the time and built prisms so I unfortunately didn't get a picture of her. She was a little frustrated with how crowded it was. We are spoiled because when we usually go we are of about 6 families that are there. The afternoon is the time to go. We ended our outing with lunch at Red Robin- the kids' favorite place to go. Fun was had by all, I was beat-ready for a nap and lucky the kids all went down.
